Woke up this Monday morning to find out that Malachite + Elephant was chosen L'UNION HAITIAN PROFESSIONALS as their Haitian Owned Business of the Week! What an amazing surprise.
I couldn't be happier & honoured, for that reason, I decided to feature all of our Haiti inspired / created / sourced products....they are:
Our very own Tropical Bath Soak - I wanted to create THE most relaxing bath soak so I choose lavender essential oils for its well known relaxing aromatherapy benefits. I chose to pair it with Haitian Vetiver essential oil because #1 I love the smell of it and #2 it's known as a grounding essential oil. I also absolutely HAD to use Haitian Vetiver oil, which is known as the highest quality, sweetest scented vetiver oil. I mixed this in with the most luxurious sea salts and came up with Malachite + Elephant's Tropical Bath Soak. This product was launched earlier this year and was even featured in the GAIA COLLECTIVE Moonbox.
One of the first products I decided to carry was Kreyol Essence's Haitian Black Castor Oil. This product quickly became a customer favorite. This oil is called Lwil Maskriti by Haitians and is a staple in every Haitian household. It's benefits include thicker and healthier hair, preventing hair loss, encouraging nail growth, reducing arthritis, back pain and muscle aches.
Although Malachite + Elephant is mainly a beauty retailer, we also sell some accessories such as ENBOIS ORIGINALS Ayiti Bracelet. I chose to carry this bracelet because it's inspired by the beautiful island of Haïti but also because ENBOIS is a fellow partner of The Haiti Tree Project.
PS this bracelet is showing a bit of wear & tear - has it's been worn by my son. Click on the picture to see the brand new, shiny ones. ;)
