Domino Magazine, TGIN Argan oil body and Hair Serum and Golden Milk

domino magazine, TGIN argan oil

In this new monthly blog series, I will feature some of my monthly favorite products. They are TGIN's argan oil, Domino winter 2015 edition, my 2016 planner and the tastiest golden milk.

Winter has finally settled in which means drier hair and skin. I've been using a lot more oils and butters on my skin and hair. My absolute fave hair oil is TGIN's Argan Replenishing Hair & Body Serum. I use it on my hair daily focusing mainly on the ends and it leaves my strands shiny, well hydrated and not greasy. Then I put it in a bun which is my almost daily hairstyle. I know, booooring, but my hair can't take the winter cold followed by the office dry hair. I have to keep it protected and buns are my go to style.

I also love interior decor and design. My home is an unfinished project so I love to get inspiration from decor magazines. My favorite for years has been Domino Magazine for it's amazing pictures and decor inspirations. The beautiful Jessica Alba graces the Winter 2015 cover.

I am one of those people who needs to take random notes, write my weekly to do list and appointments. I tried doing this on my iPhone but that doesn't work for me.  I need to write things down. I bought my Peter Pauper Press 2016 Mom's Hummingbird planner at Chapters and I just love it. It has a full week view on 2 pages - which is a must for me and it's the perfect small size that fits perfectly in my handbag. It also has the prettiest little hummingbird on the cover surrounded by purple flowers. They are still available at Chapters and they are on sale!!!

My latest discovery is Golden Milk. I've been hearing about this drink for a while and decided to try it at home. I didn't like my first try, it was a little too mild for my taste so I tried again this morning and it was AMAZING! It's also the perfect winter day hot drink, it's soothing and immune-boosting.

Here's the recipe I used (very loosely) I can't seem to follow a recipe. Most recipes I found call for powdered turmeric but I used freshly grated turmeric root. Do you have your own golden milk recipe or favorite winter drink?

Golden Milk recipe

2 cups almond milk (or coconut milk)

1 teaspoon freshly grated turmeric + 1 teaspoon freshly ground ginger root

1 teaspoon raw honey (or maple syrup)

1 teaspoon coconut oil

pinch black pepper (increases absorption)

pinch of cayenne pepper (optional but makes it so, so much tastier)

Instructions: Heat all ingredients in a saucepan for 5 minutes, until hot but not boiling. Strain and serve.

Hope you are all enjoying the winter season, go out and play in the snow.
